Jessiman Family Investments Inc. is a Winnipeg-based, mid-market focused family office. We manage equity and structured investments across multiple growth stages in a diverse group of private companies as well as a North American commercial real-estate portfolio.

The new National Research Council of Canada’s (NRC) advanced manufacturing research facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba, has been built to meet the needs of local industries, businesses and academic communities as well as to increase the NRC’s research and development (R&D) capabilities in additive manufacturing, robotics, digital technologies and sustainable food packaging.

Designed and operated as a hub for the integration and demonstration of advanced technologies targeting the sustainability of various manufacturing sectors, the research facility specializes mainly in the development of technologies to support the Canadian manufacturing industry. The facility also houses some of the resources, equipment and expertise required for the delivery of R&D activities for the NRC’s Advanced Manufacturing program.

Nelson River Construction was formed in Winnipeg during the First World War. In the 1950’s, we moved to 101 Dawson Road, in Winnipeg MB, which is still the site for our Repair and Maintenance Facilities and storage for our large fleet of equipment. In 2023, our main office relocated to 730 Taylor Avenue.

Incorporated in 1923 to build sewer and water facilities, Nelson River soon expanded into concrete and asphalt paving. As our reputation grew, so did our company. Now in our 5th generation of ownership and surpassing 100 years in business, we attribute our longevity and success to the incredible people who have worked in the Nelson River organization over this timeframe.

Today we operate inter-provincially with expertise in many areas of heavy construction from aggregate processing, concrete and asphalt paving and tunnelling, to construction of lift stations and pump houses.

As a leading heavy construction contractor in Canada today, we employ over 400 men and women, during peak season, delivering numerous projects throughout the Province and outside the Provincial borders.
