CentrePort Partner Winnipeg Airports Authority’s (WAA) Multi-Tenant Air Cargo Logistics Facility was delivered earlier this year, with tenants Air Canada, Calm Air and Cargojet nearing completion of fixturing. The building, including a 17,000 sq. ft. common-use cold chain facility, is intended to be operational in early 2027.

Work is advancing on WAA’s West Lands development project. Construction of on-site sewer and water infrastructure is complete, with the first component of on-site roads scheduled for completion in the coming month. Off-site utility installation is scheduled to begin in late September, with WAA’s second tender for this project intended to be in-market before October. The project is expected to be completed by Summer 2027.

Development plans are also moving forward for Catalyst Park and Sturgeon Business Park. On September 4, the Assiniboia Community Committee approved and advanced Phase 1 applications for both developments, moving the projects to the next stages of the City approval process.

At nearly 700 acres, Catalyst Park will be Manitoba’s largest privately owned, fully serviced industrial park. This mixed-use development by CentrePort Partner Jessiman Family Investments (JFII) will create new opportunities for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, along with supportive office, educational and retail uses.

Phase 1 of Sturgeon Business Park, developed by CentrePort Partner MMI Group, is comprised of 162 acres, with the full business park planned across approximately 400 acres, all zoned M2. The project carries forward a longstanding family connection to the land, including the legacy of the late Maurice Steele, one of the original landowners. The site has potential rail access, with future connectivity expected to be strengthened by the Moray Street extension.

Catalyst Park and Sturgeon Business will increase the supply of development-ready industrial sites in a market where site readiness plays an important role in investment attraction. These project benefit from CentrePort’s tri-modal transportation access and are intended to strengthen Winnipeg’s industrial land supply and support growth in employment-generating sectors, such as the Sky Economy (aerospace and defence).
