Construction Updates: Groupe Touchette & MoveMobility – October 2025

With over $800 million in building permits issued over the last 7 years, totalling 3.2+ million sq. ft. of construction, the landscape in CentrePort Canada is constantly evolving.

Groupe Touchette and MoveMobility are the latest expansions in CentrePort Canada with major construction updates from this summer.

Groupe Touchette Expansion Almost Complete

Groupe Touchette, the largest Canadian-owned tire distributor, is in the final phase of construction on their 112,000 sq. ft. expansion.

Greg Thompson, Construction Manager with Concord Projects, a CentrePort Canada Partner says the building is 98% complete, with the following items nearing completion:

  • Interior office finishing
  • Installation of building systems (sprinkler, mechanical, and electrical)
  • Final commissioning of building systems
  • Final construction cleaning of the building interior
  • Installation of racking by GT operations
  • Installation of the security system

Thompson says that site work is 96% complete too. The concrete loading apron and asphalt paving are complete, and concrete curbing, landscaping and site fencing are under way.

Groupe Touchette Operations will be moving into the space this month.

MoveMobility Expansion Reaches Major Construction Milestone

MoveMobility, Canada’s trusted leader in wheelchair-accessible vehicle innovation, continues to make significant progress on its 63,000 sq. ft. expansion across 10 acres in CentrePort Canada. The new facility will support the manufacturing of Type II ambulances, creating 55 new jobs and strengthening the company’s position as a leading Canadian exporter of accessible and emergency medical vehicles.

Construction, led by CentrePort Partner Contempora Steel Builders, has reached several major milestones. Steel cladding and roofing are now complete, providing full enclosure of the structure ahead of winter. In both the production area and sales offices, all major concrete work is finished, with electrical and HVAC installation well underway. Windows and doors have arrived onsite, ready for installation, and groundwork and site preparation are on schedule to be completed before winter conditions set in.

This expansion marks a key step in MoveMobility’s growth strategy, enabling greater manufacturing capacity, improved workflow efficiency, and enhanced support for customers across Canada and international markets.
