Construction Updates – July 2024

Interested in what’s happening at CentrePort? With over $750 million in building permits issued over the last 5 years, totaling 3+ million SF of construction, the landscape is constantly evolving. Here’s a look at some of the latest projects:

Air Services

A significant amount of construction is currently underway at the airport campus.

Calm Air has recently invested $12 million into a new 45,000 square foot building to house offices and a hangar. Additionally, Winnipeg Airports Authority is overseeing a $120 million investment to construct a state-of-the-art 140,500 square foot air cargo facility in Winnipeg. The project is currently underway and expected to create about 110 jobs.

Keystone Industrial Park

CentrePort Partner Exemplar Developments has recently brought to market Keystone Industrial Park, a 184-acre I2 Industrial-zoned development within CentrePort Canada, offering strategic access to key transportation routes. Represented by CentrePort Partner Colliers, the park features 24 lots designed for modern industrial distribution and manufacturing, with 16 lots still available, ranging from 4.6 to 9.4 acres, and prominent frontage along CentrePort Canada Way and Sturgeon Road. Murray Industrial Park

Packaging company Winpak Ltd. is expanding its operations in Winnipeg. The expansion includes the addition of a $130 million, 214,000 SF facility for new production lines that will create up to 60 new jobs.

Brookside Industrial Park West

NJ Industries, a locally-owned laser cutting and metal fabrication business, has recently added a 10,000 square foot expansion onto their existing 12,500 square foot facility to accommodate growing operations. Groupe Touchette, the largest Canadian-owned tire distributor, has acquired 6.62 acres of land to construct an additional 112,000 square feet of distribution space at CentrePort. Construction on the new facility, which will bring the Montreal-based company’s total space to 212,000 square feet on 12.6 acres, is anticipated to begin soon.

Canadian Fastfrate

Construction continues on the Fastfrate Group facility in the CentrePort Canada Rail Park. This $55 million 140,000 square foot facility broke ground in August of 2023 and is the first tenant in the development to begin construction.

InksPort Business Park

Whiteriver Logistics Inc. has acquired 16 acres in InksPort Business Park to build a 50,000 square foot warehouse and transportation distribution center, marking their second location in CentrePort. The $30 million facility is expected to be operational by late 2024 or early 2025. Learn more.

BrookPort Business Park

Pacific Truck & Trailer has recently built a new semi-truck repair shop in BrookPort Business Park. The 10,526 SF building was constructed by Olympic builders and contains 3 drive-thru bays with full fledge truck & trailer wash.

Rosser Municipal Services Building

CentrePort Partner Contempora Steel Builders has broken ground on the construction of the RM of Rosser’s new Municipal Service Building on Wheatfield Road. This facility is designed to accommodate various municipal divisions.
