Federal Supports: Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI)
On August 25th, the Government of Canada introduced a $7.5 billion package of new and enhanced measures that deliver fast, simple and agile supports to Canadian workers and businesses affected by tariffs. This includes $1.5 billion to expand the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI) to include liquidity support for eligible businesses including manufacturers and processors.
Beyond addressing immediate liquidity concerns, RTRI also helps small and medium-sized enterprises pivot to diversify their markets, create new export revenue sources, adopt innovative technologies to boost productivity and competitiveness, and build more resilient supply chains for the longer term.
If you are a Prairie-based business dealing with demonstrable impacts from US or Canadian tariffs, RTRI could help.
- Up to $3 million in non-repayable contributions per business, of which up to $2 million can be for liquidity support to help businesses manage tariff-related pressures; and
- Eligibility includes businesses with a minimum annual revenue of $1 million that demonstrate tariff impacts.

You can find more information and how to apply on PrairiesCan’s RTRI website, contact one of our offices directly, or call 1-888-338-9378.
