On January 19th, CentrePort Canada signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) together with Prairies Economic Development Canada, the Province of Manitoba, Arctic Gateway Group, and Winnipeg Airports Authority.
The agreement, called “Ports Manitoba Project,” brings together the combined strengths of Manitoba’s most important transportation and logistics assets to strengthen Manitoba’s inland, air and Arctic corridors. This partnership aims to diversify Canadian trade routes, improve supply‑chain resilience, and provide businesses with better access to global markets.
The agreement aligns Manitoba’s Arctic shipping access, year‑round air cargo capabilities, and North America’s largest trimodal inland port into a single, integrated logistics ecosystem designed to move goods more efficiently across air, land and sea.
