Manitoba is set to adopt The Captured Carbon Storage Act (CCSA), a significant legislative step that will clarify subsurface pore rights for carbon capture and storage (CCS) and attract investment in CCS technology. The new law, aligning with federal CO2 emission credits, aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help achieve net-zero targets by 2050.
By leveraging Manitoba’s abundant hydroelectric power, the CCSA aims to position the province as a leader in CO2 management and innovation, driving significant investment in this crucial technology.
