FCC is announcing $2 billion in investment capital to advance innovation in Canadian agtech.
Through its investment arm, FCC Capital, Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is committing $2 billion in investment capital by 2030 to advance innovation in Canadian agtech. Agtech generates the innovation the Canadian ag and food industry needs to accelerate productivity and continue feeding Canada and the world. In 2023, annual venture capital investment into Canada’s agtech sector was approximately $270 million – 10 times below the U.S. when adjusted for population – putting Canada at a strategic disadvantage.
Launched in 2024, FCC Capital delivers capital solutions to the Canadian ag and food industry, including investment fund and direct equity investments across the entire value chain. In its inaugural year, it closed nine direct investment deals totaling $170M, investing in three new funds, and adding a new business accelerator to its portfolio.

RRC Polytech and Qualico partner to lay the foundation for success in Skilled Trades and Technologies
RRC Polytech has received a landmark $1.25 million donation from Qualico, aimed at enhancing the College’s skilled trades programs. This generous gift will expand the capacity of the Introduction to Trades program, for Indigenous learners to develop specialized skills and gain direct entry into their chosen trades programs. Additionally, the donation will fund the creation of a new Navigator position to increase student participation and provide comprehensive support.
The donation will also support the School of Skilled Trades and Technologies by establishing ten annual awards of $5,000 each for Construction Trades students. This partnership between RRC Polytech and Qualico underscores their shared commitment to building strong, diverse communities with a highly skilled workforce. Qualico’s ongoing support, including previous donations and scholarships, highlights their dedication to student success and the development of Manitoba’s infrastructure and economy.

KGS Group continues its success at the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies Manitoba Awards
KGS Group continues its success after bringing home three awards from the 2025 Association of Consulting Engineering Companies Manitoba award show.
Partnering with the Royal Canadian Mint to reduce their carbon footprint, KGS oversaw the construction of a cutting-edge, open-loop geothermal cooling system for their new coin-making process. This system was a first for the Mint and won an Award of Excellence.
KGS Group’s design of the building systems for the Desautels Concert Hall won an Award of Excellence. This 407-seat facility in the University of Manitoba’s Taché Arts Complex hosts diverse events, from solo acoustic performers to operas.
Lastly, KGS earned an Award of Merit for their remediation efforts of the Central Manitoba Mine (CMM). The CMM is an abandoned mine that presented major hazards to the public and environment. KGS spearheaded the site’s transformation – developing closure plans, designing innovative remediation solutions, and overseeing construction administration.
