The latest industrial park at CentrePort has just broken ground in the R.M. of Rosser. It is anticipated that the first of three buildings with space available for lease will be complete by summer 2021.

Local developer MMI Asset Management is bringing the $46 million Steele Business Park to market. This 17-acre industrial development is named after Maurice Steele and his family, who are long time landowners and investors in industrial developments at the inland port.

“Breaking ground is an exciting milestone for the Steele family, our company and our investors,” said Martin McGarry, President & CEO, MMI Asset Management Ltd.

The first of three approximately 80,000 square foot buildings will be completed and ready for occupancy by the end of summer 2021.

“The industrial real estate activity that we are seeing today is a result of years of hard work and collaboration amongst many players to create an environment at CentrePort that is conducive to investment,” said Diane Gray, President & CEO, CentrePort Canada Inc. “We are thrilled to see a new real estate option being brought to market by MMI and look forward to welcoming new companies to the inland port.”

Optimist Park Expansion Complete

On September 3, 2020, the City of Winnipeg unveiled the newly completed expansion of Optimist Park.

Located within CentrePort Canada, the park features a new full-sized soccer field, playground, parking lot, monument relocation, and fencing.

A portion of Optimist Park had been expropriated for the construction of CentrePort Canada Way, and this expansion on the east side of its original location completes a decade of work on the project.

The park is an important amenity for St. James residents and the sports clubs that call its fields home. It will provide recreational space for future residents of the planned residential community in CentrePort Canada.
