New State-of-the-Art Air Cargo Facility Coming to Winnipeg – February 2024

In a significant boost to Canada’s air cargo capabilities, the federal government has recently announced a $19.4 million investment — along with the $30.4 million announced in 2019 — in the construction of a state-of-the-art air cargo facility in Winnipeg. This strategic move underscores Canada’s commitment to enhancing the country’s logistics infrastructure and further situates CentrePort as a trade and logistics powerhouse. The new facility is poised to play a pivotal role in facilitating the efficient movement of goods, supporting businesses, and strengthening the nation’s economic backbone. Construction of the new air cargo facility is scheduled to begin in April and is expected to create approximately 110 jobs. As construction commences, anticipation grows for the positive impact this investment will have on Canada’s air cargo industry and an increased competitiveness on the global stage.
